Exhibition

Do you have cats or small children at home? A good friend, also a miniaturist, used to say that miniatures are more attractive to dwarves than plugs or matches. And I don't even tell the cats. It is to see a shelf full of cute little soldiers in formation and the kittens go into a destructive frenzy that makes their hair stand on end.

Showcase

Jokes aside, there are five enemies of the toy soldiers:

  • The dust (and the ladies armed with feather dusters).
  • Humidity.
  • Direct sunlight.
  • Pets.
  • Children.

Cabinet with boxes

The ideal way to store and protect our soldiers is in their original boxes or in hard cardboard cases like the ones we show in the images. The figures are perfectly protected and are also very easy to store or save. There are cases, such as those used to store commemorative plaques, for example, that are especially suitable. The figures can be fixed to them with a silicone dot or Blue Tack and thus we make sure that they do not move in the event that we have to manipulate the cases.

Inside the case

What happens is that we all like to have our collections in showcases that allow us to enjoy them. Such showcases should:

  • Do not receive direct sunlight.
  • Close hermetically, so that no dust or moisture enters.
  • Have some kind of closure that prevents attacks by claws, tiny but lethal handymen, and feather dusters.

When our showcases are full and saturated (and that moment will come, I assure you) there are other options such as small drawers. For example, I have my collection of armies for war games in the small drawer that appears in the images. 1,500 figurines with their accessories and accessories fit perfectly in 7 drawers.

An old cabinet with 19 drawers/trays, once used to store teeth in my sister's dental laboratory, is now used to store 30 and 40 mm plastic figures. The options are many. You just have to use a little imagination. The important thing is that our figures are well protected.
